A list of the city centre’s major historical attractions

THE FORMER BAZAR HOTEL
The building was constructed in the 1850s on the initia- tive of Karol Marcinkowski. Since the beginning, through the remained period of Prussian occupation, it was the most important Polish public building, serving as place of social and scientific life.
THE FORMER HUGGER’s BREWERY, today THE OLD BREWERY Shopping, Culture and Business Centre
Buildings of the former Hugger’s Brewery became part of a new complex built – in great part from scratch – in the place of the former production hall. The architecture of the Old Brewery features genuine pieces of brick dating back to the turn of the 19th and 20th centuries.
RACZYŃSKI LIBRARY
This classical edifice dating from the first half of the 19th century was built thanks to the help on the part of Edward Raczyński’s Foundation. The beautiful clas- sical colonnade brings to mind the eastern facade of the Louvre palace.
